Social and Emotional Development

At our school, we emphasize children’s social and emotional development, as it forms the foundation for future relationships, learning, and overall well-being. By teaching children to manage their emotions, interact positively with others, and build self-esteem, we equip them with essential skills for success in both school and life. These abilities are most effectively developed during the early years, a critical time when the brain is rapidly growing and highly responsive to environmental influences.

Academic and Intellectual Foundations
Our focus is on building a strong academic foundation while promoting children’s intellectual disposition. We emphasize critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and a love for learning, preparing children for future academic success.

Enrichment Activities
Within our Full-Day Program, we offer enrichment activities that nurture creativity, movement, and artistic expression.

-
Music and Movement
Led by our educator Yukiko, this program encourages children to express themselves freely through rhythm, music, and movement. -
Arts
Guided by our educator Ann, children engage in daily art projects using a wide variety of mediums—such as acrylic paints, cray-pas, liquid watercolors, and other inspiring tools and materials. -
Storytelling
Also led by Ann, our storytelling sessions are a highlight of the day. Ann’s exceptional talent for weaving tales captivates the children, whose eyes light up with anticipation whenever a story begins. -
Puppets
Led by our educator Maria, this program combines creativity with social learning. Maria enjoys making puppets with the children and uses them to model social skills, connect with children at their level, and spark imaginative play.
Classroom Environment
Our classroom spans 2,182.5 square feet, including an indoor gross motor area. We believe the environment is children’s third teacher, so we’ve designed a spacious, comfortable, aesthetically pleasing, and inclusive space for learning.
Natural Playground
We prioritize the role of nature in child development. Our outdoor space allows children to explore and connect with the natural world, fostering environmental awareness and encouraging sustainable practices.
Convenient Location
We are centrally located in downtown Winchester. Our proximity to the local park allows us to take children on walks where they can freely explore, climb trees, observe passing trains, and enjoy the fountain. We also organize activities like visiting the local post office to mail letters the children have created, stopping by nearby banks, and exploring local stores where they satisfy their curiosity about how things work.
We are steps away from the Winchester Center train station, making pick-up and drop-off convenient for families.
Community Walks
We regularly take the children on walks through our peaceful neighborhood and the nearby lake. These walks provide opportunities to experience the changing seasons, connect with nature, and observe the beautiful variety of houses in the area.
